Every year in late March and the start of April, I will be shooting the photogenic plant Broad-leaved Cattail. The Cattail is reported to date back to the time of dinosaurs and the plants provide a habitat for water fowl and other wildlife. The Cattail has been called the "supermarket of the swamp" almost every part of the plant can be eaten including the roots, shoots, bloom spikes and pollen. They don’t look like cat tails to me - they look like hotdogs!
