Image of the Month - DECEMBER 2010

Frozen stream, Fussingø, Denmark

I simply can´t get enough of winter - I get so inspired and just have to get out! The snow and frost simplifies the landscape and the light is amazing what else can you ask for?

ICE, I've always been fascinated by ice and its forms and shapes in nature, it is not every year that I can encounter ice formations like this in a Danish stream; certainly not as early as December.

On a beautiful cold morning at a small stream near the old watermill at Fussingø I made this frozen image with my new Zeiss macro lens, that with its outstanding resolving power and fine detail is perfect for this kind of motif.

(Nikon D700, Carl Zeiss ZF.2 100mm 2,0 T* Makro-Planar, iso 200, tripod)
