Magic Light, Mariager Fjord, Denmark
There are many elements of great photography, one of the most important is lighting.
Whether you’re using artificial lighting or natural lighting, you must have a good understanding of each. I have been using the natural light for almost all my work and my findings are that a lot of it comes down to timing and angles.
Around new year the temperature was very low and hundreds of swans and other birds was resting at Dania at Mariager fjord. Here Scandinavia's only salt factory started production in mid-1970s .. hot salty water from the production runs out in the fjord and makes the area ice-free even in the coldest winters.
The results can be amazing when you understand the use of natural light, notice how the lighting becomes much more than just a way to light the subject. In this image the light takes on volume and becomes the focal point.
