Sleeping Dragonflies

Glistening in the early morning sun, these insects look like creatures from another planet as dew gathers on their sleeping bodies. Captured in close-up this morning, I found a couple of dragonflies totally encrusted in diamonds as they rests on a twig.

Dragonflies, take on an unearthly quality as the water droplets form on them, but it is very difficult to find them and you must be very fast taking the photos because the dew quickly disappears.

My main objective this morning were swans at the lake, but I only managed to make one decent image of a swan in the mist, but found these images more interesting and worth to share on my blog.
