Painterly Swans

I'm hoping to add images to my Swan collection this forthcoming winter. They’re fantastic subjects - full of grace, power and beauty, there’s so many reasons to photograph them. Mute Swans are always interesting subjects, this collection has a painterly quality that I really like, almost a surreal look that occurred naturally. All of the images are made with my fast 300mm 2,8 lens at f/2,8 to isolate the swans and soften the foreground.

All images: (Nikon D700, Nikkor AFS 300mm 2,8 VR ED, iso 200-500, f/2,8, tripod)
