Impression of Trees

Recently my image "Impression of Trees" was awarded in the category Nordic Creative Nature Image of the Year in NNPC Nordic Nature Photo Contest 2012.

The magical forest of Alstrup krat near Mariager has changed a lot since I made that image in March 2011, yesterday I visited the forest once again and most of the magic has gone since then; before the forest were dark and full of spirit, today the spruce forest has been cut down and the once so dark moss-covered beech forest were lit up. Nature is changing all the time, sometimes by human hand! But I managed to make a new image with motion blur anyway.

Spring is getting closer and the forest reveals new textures and shapes for the one who embraces the coming season. Clear your mind and let your eyes rest upon its elegance, abstract, shapes, lines and trees, I used motion blur and panned the camera vertically during the exposure to achieve the effect.
