At this years nature photo festival "fotofestival" in the North-western part of Denmark, I will exhibit some of my work with the theme "Mellem himmel og hav i Thy" (Between sky and sea in Thy). I will show images of landscapes, birds and close-ups from the area of Thy.
The fotofestival in Thy has lots to offer this year, lectures, exhibitions from many of our Nordic friends from Norway and Sweden, including among others Roy Mangersnes and Brutus Östling - this will be an inspiring weekend in late September I'm sure!.
Translation from the fotofestival site:
One of Denmark's most talented and award-winning landscape photographers exhibiting at the fotofestival.
On fotofestival 2012, Jesper Tønning exhibit images with the theme "Between sky and sea in Thy" - birds, landscapes and close-ups from the "Wild West". Jesper's hobby has turned into a lifestyle where the experience, for him, is just as important as the image itself and it can be clearly seen in his beautiful images in this exhibition.
He photographs Danish landscapes like no other. His philosophy is that you do not have to go far away to find the good motives. Although Denmark is the favourite photo destination, the Nordic mountains are his favourite travel destination, Jesper has been on several photo trips to Lapland's wilderness during the years.
The use of light, composition and the special eye for detail is Jesper's trump card, and landscape and macro shots are his speciality. Jesper has received numerous awards in national and international photo competitions, he is with the Wild Wonders of Europe team, as the only Dane, and he has several times been nature photographer of the year in Denmark.
Jesper Tønning's work through the years are presented in a series of exhibitions, books, calendars, postcards and brochures.
