A Sea of Ferns

High humidity, heavy fog, mosquitoes in the air and the sound of crows were the menu of the early morning hours the other morning. In my search of motifs I found this magnificent sea of ferns on the heath. The chaotic pattern of ferns created a strong foreground and together with the oak trees in the background it creates a powerful, yet calming motif. I decided to go monochrome in this one, to create a mysterious feeling.
