Memorial Park for the Battle of Jutland

Yesterday, me and an old chap of mine, took a day-trip to the North-western part of Denmark. Thyborøn is a small fishing village, primarily famous for being the site of numerous shipwrecks. A new attraction is The Memorial Park for the Battle of Jutland, which did open on the 100th anniversary of the battle on 31st May and 1st June, 2016.

I wanted to create an mystic feeling, I used a strong ND filter and converted the images in monochrome, to create this ghostly appearance...

The world’s greatest naval battle took place during World War I on 31st May and 1st June 1916. More than 240 battleships were involved in this showdown between British and German naval forces. In just one day, 25 vessels fell victim to a massive exchange of fire. Along with the 8645 British and German seamen who perished, they were left to the fate of the ocean. Sea War Museum
